Secure Savings We encourage regular savings by standing order, payroll deduction or at collection points.  No amount is too small.  Savings are held as secure shares in the Credit Union and an annual dividend is paid.  Junior savers (below 16) are paid a special rate of interest.   More.. Low Cost Loans We can provide cheaper loans to savers than doorstep lenders or catalogues.  Loans are available to savers after 8 weeks regular savings: interest is charged at 1% per month (12.68%APR).    More.. Membership Anyone who lives or works in Taunton Deane or West Somerset can join and have an account with Moorvale, which is managed for the benefit of its members and the local community.   The joining fee is £1, with an annual affiliation fee of £1.   We have around 500 members .  More... Management and Regulation Credit Unions are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA Number 213953).  Moorvale is managed by a board of unpaid volunteer directors, which is elected annually.  All members can attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting, which decides the dividend rate on shares and the special interest rate for Junior Savers.   More.. l
